The ACAS Code of Practice on Discipline and Grievance (“the ACAS Code”) sets the benchmark for best practice when dealing with conduct, capability and grievance issues in the workplace.
Employment tribunals take the Code very seriously and have the power to increase compensation by up to 25% where employers have not followed the Code’s recommendations.
This seminar will help you understand exactly what you need to do when dealing with disciplinary matters or grievances to ensure that a tribunal will understand and agree with the steps you have taken and the decisions you have reached.

During this half-day seminar, delegates will:
- Learn the key elements of a fair dismissal
- Learn the importance of the ACAS Code
- Learn about a fair dismissal procedure and what an employment tribunal judge expects from you
- Understand how to handle grievances correctly
- Recognise and learn how to minimise the risk of discrimination claims in disciplinary and grievance processes
- Take home lots of practical tips and dos and don’ts
As with all didlawEDUCATION courses, our training is delivered in a friendly, un-stuffy manner using engaging case studies and mini-quizzes to test knowledge as we go along. This is a workshop style course with plenty of opportunity for discussion and interaction.
