Karen acted for a woman who was undergoing IVF and who had to take frequent time off work for medical appointments. She was denied any promotion opportunities from the time her employer was aware she was trying for a child and her male colleague was promoted in preference to her. She wanted to leave the organisation which was clearly not going to support her as a new mother and wanted to avoid litigation to secure a swift conclusion to matters.
